Mako and Raleigh move to Japan primarily on the basis of Mako's engineering background to reconstruct a power grid for the new city rebuild. Raleigh's brain concentrates more on boots-on-the-ground kind of stuff: building a porch for the tiny-ass house they're living in, etc etc. He has received numerous invitations for boxing/fighting matches being held different places - all haphazard, but the one he accepts earlier this day is more of an exhibition hanbo sparring thing held in the neighborhood.

Basically, Raleigh's not home when Mako gets home, and when he does he will be all sweaty. Go!]

Sometimes the community here can find a problem with the idea of Raleigh and Mako dropping their staffs to just start making out with each other. Imagine that.

"No, I meant...what about me, working at a place like that?"

It is not how most fights typically end between other people.

The smile catches in her eyes first before rising on her lips, and she nods once, encouragingly.

"I think that is a good idea."

"I don't know what the first steps are, but maybe you can help me out with that."

[co_pilot]

"I would. Gladly."

Better pay attention, Mr. Becket, because now you have a lap full of your co-pilot.

(It's a comfortable place from which to watch the telescreen. Even if she isn't doing much in the way of watching.)

"Glad you approve of the idea then."

[co_pilot]

"It isn't very hard for you to win that."

[dontchaserabbits]

"You disagree with me sometimes.


"Right?"

"Sometimes."

She is not above offering her opinion on certain subjects.

"Like about watching something on the screen, seeing as how you're a door, not a window."

Raleigh's hands land on Mako's hips in case she doesn't realize that it's a joke and he really likes her sitting there.

"Were you even watching to begin with?"

Somehow she doubts that. Her own arms wind around his neck, her face the picture of playful determination.

"Yup. Something about a dog and running. There was a boy with a bike. It was very educational."

[co_pilot]

She grins and settles there against his chest, her head resting on his shoulder.

"Educational?"

"I assume so, anyway."

[co_pilot]

"That may be safe to assume."

She turns her head, covering her mouth with one cupped hand to stifle a yawn.

"See that's stuff's -- " Yawning.

Contagious.

"Long day."

Cue sleepy nuzzling.

Raleigh gives Mako's hair a long inhale. She is very solid, and it's something that Raleigh never ceases to appreciate.

"We can go upstairs?"

Instead of a verbal answer, he gets another yawn.

"I can go up. If you are not tired."

"Are you kidding?"

Pass up a chance to record more evidence of Mako snoring?

"Just let me get my voice recorder..."

She reaches down to tweak his side, beneath his arm.

"Ow! Not my fault you don't believe me."

[co_pilot]

"I'll give you something to record."

[dontchaserabbits]

"Bet you will."

"Okay, okay - bed."

When she wakes, she rolls over to check the clock by habit before she remembers it's her day off.

And then she curls back in slowly, cuddles up against his broad source of warmth.

There may be a hand wandering lower, beneath the sheets.

Raleigh's eyes snap open at Mako's touch, face immediately splitting into a broad grin. "Good morning."
